Keep up with the latest issue with Missouri Feral Hogs

Since Feral Hogs aka Wild Hogs are treated like a CIA and FBI Russian or Ukrainian Conspiracy, a Missouri Landowner, Taxpayer and Citizen has fill out FIOA and ORR from the government about a PIG!!

You look at the numbers for yourself!

It's funny how Hunting and Shooting comes first then way down the road the Missouri Department of Conservation are stepping up game and trapping now.

Guess that NO VALUE hog got some VALUE, then they join in the Reindeer Games!!!!!

Look at Missouri 20 to 25 years later of so called in conjunction with trapping and 8 years after the Governor told them to get act together then push trapping.

But just like before now they throw out hunters and trapping only.

Really one single method did not work first time.

Question: Why did hunters have to carry the load for 25 years?

Question: Why did hunters have to carry the load for 8 years after governor of Missouri established the Feral Hog Task Force?

Question: Why did no one thank the hunters for carrying the water for 25 years, instead of calling hunter criminals?

It doesn't take a Biology degree to understand it takes all methods at same time are required.

2016 Wild Pigs Removed 5,358 for entire state took 1700 plus traps that's just over 3 hogs per trap. Really

Another question is why did the amount of traps decrease while tax payers dollars and hired trappers have increased dramatically from 2016 to 2018?

Missouri is in a Wild Hog Crisis and the 500+ decrease in trap numbers. They are scattered and abandoned throughout the woods of Southeast MO.

Comments have flooded in since posting videos on March 2nd, 2019

It isn’t nothing to see groups of 50+ at one time and most likely if you see one group you will see the other 4-5 Sounders that like to roam that area. The Sounders range between 35 to 50 +

Private Landowner Adjacent to Castor River Conservation Area - I started seeing 2 Juvenile Wild Hogs in 2016 since then the problem has only gotten worse - I had photos now of up to 20 Wild Hogs in one photo.

Private Landowner 4 Miles West of Castor River and only a 1 mile west from Castor River Conservation Area- We have a 5 Acre Food plot that looks just like that across the river. From a Distance it looks as if it has been plowed.

Missouri Feral Hog Refuge System - With the Wild Hog reports I have gotten and the landowners and hunters I have talk to, looks like 6.5 mile radius from Blue Pond the Epic center of Castor River Conservation Area with 23 acres of corn food plots and 84,948 acres.

Missouri Department of Conservation Press Release 2016:

MDC owns or manages about conservation areas around the state, feral hogs exist mostly in southern Missouri. Hog hunting on conservation areas interferes with efforts by MDC staff to trap and eliminate entire groups of feral hogs, called sounders.

The regulation change prohibiting hog hunting on conservation lands is a direct result of some misguided individuals disrupting trapping efforts by MDC staff. MDC staff set large, corral-type traps on areas where there are known feral hogs. They then bait the area with corn for several days or weeks to attract the targeted group of hogs, get them used to the surroundings, and get them concentrated in the trap before triggering it. This work takes weeks, with the goal being to trap the entire group of hogs. After weeks of work to catch the sounder of hogs, we then get an individual who finds out about the site, shows up at some point, and shoots a hog or two. The rest of the group then scatters and moves to a new location. As a result, weeks of work have been wasted and new areas now have feral hogs."

No. 1 Rule in Feral Hogs – You must own the night.

Does this sound like USDA and the MDC own the night in Missouri or Feral Hogs do?

The No. 1 Hog Trapping Company in the Country - During December 2012 to June 2014, 76 combined trapping and thermal shooting events resulted in the removal of 624 swine (353 shot, 271 trapped) on 5,000 acres.

The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) began a feral hog research project in 2009 to analyze hog movements:

The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) Feral Hog Research Results - Hogs were significantly more active at sunset than sunrise and more active at night than during daylight hours.

The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) Night Vision and Thermals devices, want more regulation, which are extremely effective for poaching wildlife, are not being used to take wildlife under the guise of “hog hunting.” Coming December 2019.

November of 2018 – USDA Aphis Trapper could not get permission from his boss to use thermals on my property to kill hogs unless they where coming in on a regular basis.

TWO TICKETS 15 YEARS AGO RELEASE HOGS AND BUT 7 TICKETS FOR KILLING HOGS!

Ok let me get this right MDC has been trapping hogs for 20 years and have been blaming hunters from the start. Have gotten two convictions back 15 years ago. All the top leadership brags about both of these.

Whole state in 1969 requires confinement of hogs
Since 1969, there have been feral hogs in a few Missouri Counties, primarily south of Interstate 44.
1990s, domestic pork prices plummeted, and hogs were released by hog farmers.
So, they started Trapping in 1999 per MDC
The release of hogs illegal. The passage of “Feral Hog Statutes” in 2002
In 2004 they catch ONE person Releasing Hogs and ONE person for helping release hogs. BENTON County Missouri.

But they have given tickets for killing hogs SEVEN times.

But in a OFFICAL GOVERNMENT DOCEMENT - FERAL HOGS- STATUS AND DISTRIBUTION IN MISSOURI one page 31 in a special “sting” operation was conducted in early 2005 and several people were prosecuted for illegally releasing hogs for hunting purposes. https://www.aphis.usda.gov/wildlife_damage/nwrc/downloads/Hardin.pdf

So, where that sting information?

Picture

Missouri Department of Conservation accuses Hog Doggers of putting GPS collars on hogs. They put it there presentation across Missouri and give to the Missouri media campaign to the public.

MDC never mentioned that they have Collard 15 hogs in research and USDA has Collard 45. Oops

I guess MDC and USDA Aphis do no talk with each other.

That 70 percent of the feral hog population needs to be removed yearly to keep populations of feral hogs from increasing.

Texas, Louisiana or Florida Biologist, Scientists and Agency who says they cannot

Can I wipe out a hog population through hunting or trapping.

Quote “The feral hog has managed to survive, adapt, and increase their numbers despite attempts at population control. While it is possible to keep population in check with continued controls of 70 plus percent killed annually, it is highly unlikely to eradicate a hog population within established range."

MISSOURI FERAL HOG HELICOPTER SEASON

Missouri using it's own numbers in 2017 - 30,000 hog population.

Helicopter to kill how many hogs?

1000's or 10,000's

It took USDA Aphis 4 years to kill 885 hogs with Helicopter in Missouri per Freedom of information act Requests results.

So it takes 4 years to kill less than 3% of hog population for 1 year.

That is called Eradication.

Take a hike on Missouri State Parks enjoy the rotting smell of feral hogs.

The “aerial gunning activities” are used as a last resort for hard-to-catch hogs hiding in some of the state’s most rugged terrain. Agents often leave hogs shot in aerial operations on site to decompose, as they did in previous flights according to USDA APHIS.

Here are some of the DID YOU KNOW from the Missouri Department of Conservation Feral Hog Research from pages 14 thru 21 in 2009.
Feral Hog Research Project Final Report

Executive Summary

The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) began a feral hog research project in 2009 to analyze hog movements, cost efficiency of control efforts, and reproductive characteristics and growth rates of the population.

DID YOU KNOW? - 2009 - Both the V.I. analysis and centroid distance analysis showed that hogs were least disturbed by trapping activities and most disturbed by aerial gunning with the helicopter.

DID YOU KNOW? - 2009 - Generally, our results were similar to others, in that while aerial gunning did have some impact on hog movements

DID YOU KNOW? - 2009 - However, the average distance away hogs moved from the site of disturbance by helicopter was approximately 1 km.,

Hate to live next door. ROFLMAO
