March 22nd, 2018 -
Another low wind event, Multiple Mini Prescribed Fires for one large area, taking a break under stand enjoying the smell of smoke and watching the fire. One long day. Lost Valley area north of saddle food plot

March 23rd, 2018
Mineral Site No.1 all done today 400 lbs. added started in 2007 and as of today 5,400 lbs. have been put in. Before, then turning dirt over add mineral and turn soil over one more time just as rain was coming in.

Tis the season to get one more Xmas tree turkey hunting blind put in. Just have to get all my other's taken care of some time next week.

Spring just now waking up on the property, walked my property line today always neat to see what has changed or coming in. Also I get to walk by the area that has Ammonites fossil, they are cephalopods and first appeared in the seas 415 million years ago. Also tons of turkey scratching and sign today. Plus walked by yesterday burn area.

March 31st, 2018
Ready for a nap. Wow got the monster tree off fence and fence repaired before next rain set in. Turkey already using burn area also.

It takes more than # Save this, # Save that, on social media to make habitat better for the wildlife. It takes Hunters, Land Owners, Land Managers, REAL Conservationist, REAL Conservation groups – NOT Environmentalist, NOT Anti-Hunters or groups, NOT FAKE conservation groups that only hire lawyers to file law suits. It takes boots and blood on the ground – Aldo Leopold had it right over 85 years ago, this is just the modern-day version - Using a Fire, Chainsaw, Disc, Gun and Trapping to improve habitat for the wildlife is the only way.
One of my favorite long lasting things I love to do is prescribe fire the edge of the wood line and then come back and edge feather that area. Well I at least got it edge feather started today, right after the snow melted from this morning. Will finish up after Turkey Season.

April 20th, 2018 - Lost Valley Lake Camera Installed.

April 25th - 7 of my Apple Trees are in bloom. Spring finally here.

April 25th -
Awesome at least 6 of 8 chestnut trees are alive from planting last November.

SNAILS - One of my favorite reasons to do do prescribed fires in my woods. Hens are drawn to the area to eat snail shells for egg production. The big boys will follow.

Nature's Amazing ! This not a creek. This is the water that comes out of a hillside after 3 inches of rain. Right into my lake.

June 2nd, 2018 - Day of Fishing

June 7th, 2018 - Found a fawn in Main Food Plot

June 14th, 2018 - Weed Wiper all assembled.

June 22, 2018 - Using the Weed Wiper and all Chestnut Tree are alive, volunteer pumpkins have come up.

July 13th, 2018 - Camp Bench reconditioned.

July 29th, 2018 -
Well I got my food plots planted today, trying to beat the rain, and the next two to three days of rain. Soon as I got home it had started to rain back at land, always good. Another cool thing was I got to see 3 chicken size poults fly out of my food plots with a hen, that’s always good, with the amount of bugs on ATV and me I can see why, lots of dusting spots also.

Barkant Forage Turnips
Appin Forage Turnips
Crimson Clover
Sugar Beets
Waiting on local dealer to get Fridge Triticale was hoping for last Friday but did not happen.
Used the Poor Mans, cultipacker today also, my steel bedframe drags they are 11 years old now, have seen better days but you can’t find them anymore.
Also stop by feed the fish, looks like still have a couple of Albino after all these years that the Bald Eagle has not gotten yet.

New no trespassing sign to go with the old.

Gate Cameras are installed

July 31st, 2018
Had a good walk about today with the big rain right on my tail.
Came across where I guess a Raccoon took a pit stop after eating a pumpkin. As famous Martian astronaut Mark Watney said – “All natural, and organic,” - but Raccoon manure grown pumpkins. Don’t here that every day.
Then my custom-made deer feeder may it rest in peace – First time since 2008 it does have feed in it for August Population survey – It served me well.
My Durana Clover is hanging on in some plots, little thin in some areas.
The Wildlife Watering Hole – Fell little behind I guess, I need to spray the lilly pads this year.
My prescribed fire area after 4 months has really greened up.
Looks like deer had a snack on the wrong side of camera.
Also it’s that time of the Year again when the deer hammer Pokeweed

Man the rain really came down today
