Product Review No. 1 – Insulated Bow Mitt
By: Allen “horntagger” Morris

After attending the 40th annual National Wild Turkey Federation Convention and Sport Show on Feb. 16-19, at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel in Nashville. I had the chance to go by all 600 companies in attendance.

If you have ever bow hunted in the cold you are perfectly aware of how cold you hand gets once you have to pick up your bow when I deer is walking thru. You also understand how some deer really take their time and your hand starts to go numb from the cold.

One of the companies had multiple items but had the perfect solution for the cold days bow hunting. Better the Hunt is the company out of Idaho and if nothing else they know what cold weather is like, and the product is Insulated Bow Mitt.

Some of the features of this Insulated Bow Mitt – Fits any bow, Fits any shooting style, 200 Grams of Insulated, Machine washable and air dry. Also after talking with them at the booth you can also put a hand warmer inside also. They also mentioned that it will fit with or without a stabilizer on you bow.

The best feature of the Insulated Bow Mitt that it stays on your bow but can be removed anytime.

Available in Four Designs – Mossy Oak Brush, Mossy Oak Treestand, Mossy Oak Break Up Country and Ground Blind Black.

Made in America.

Product Review No. 2 – Modular Game Pack
By: Allen “horntagger” Morris

Need to pack your decoys, traps, hauling game out or getting ready for the season and you are needing to get to remote areas or just trying to keep the noise down and items are too bulky for a back pack. One thing they don’t think about, is getting into remote fishing areas and you need your hands but need to haul your fishing gear out and your catch back out. Well one of the companies I believe has an outstanding product for that. The MODULAR GAME PACK

This company had multiple items and I have already covered the Insulated Bow Mitt which is the perfect solution for the cold days bow hunting. Better the Hunt is the company out of Idaho and if nothing else they know what it takes to get in and out of remote rugged terrain, and the product is Modular Game Pack

Some of the features of this Modular Game Pack –

Equal Weight Distribution on front and back delivers less strain than back only packs. Helps improve mobility and balance and center of gravity. At the show, they said it would carry more than you would want to haul at one time. But an outstanding feature, especially if you are hauling out game and you have a buddy with you, it can be split in two for load sharing that way both of you can carry the load out.

Built for Comfort with padded shoulder straps for comfort and improved weight distribution. Side straps help reduce unwanted load shifting. Great for hauling out turkeys, furbearers or quartered big game animals.

Lightweight Compact Design can be stored inside a hunting pack, vehicle or ATV – ready for deployment. Includes a compact carry duffle. Stored pack dimension 11” x 6” x 6”

Heavy Duty Use the durable material, buckles, and straps are long lasting and easy to clean. Features weep holes for cleaning and drainage. This possible could be a great pack for carrying all your supplies for both Water Trapping and Land Trapping.
List of features is as follows:
  • Splits in two separate pace for load sharing.
  • Each pouch measures 9” Long x 21” Wide and 12” Deep
  • Weep holes for cleaning and drainage.
  • Adjustable waist strap helps minimize load shifting.
  • Adjustable padded shoulder straps
  • Easy adjust buckles quickly modify pocket capacity
  • Easy access storage pockets
  • Drawstring opening
  • Versatile external gear cargo straps
  • Stored pack dimension 11” x 6” x 6”
  • Total Pack weight 2.6 lbs
  • High Visibility durable 4200 Nylon

I do believe this will be on my wish list before next season starts. You must decide if it is something you will need before your next hunting, trapping for fishing trip.
